Light Spring is the lightest of the three spring seasons. Its coloring is delicate and warm: light golden, strawberry or light brown hair, light bright eyes in blue, green or a light hazel, and light peachy or ivory skin, with little contrast between them. Lightness comes first, warmth second.
The palette follows that order: peach, light coral, warm aqua, butter yellow, a light clear green and warm ivory. They are light enough not to overpower a delicate face and warm enough to bring out the gold in the skin. Warm ivory and light camel stand in for white and black as neutrals, and light gold or rose gold suit it better than heavy silver.
What works against a Light Spring is depth: black, burgundy, charcoal, deep plum, dark navy and deep emerald all sit far darker than its coloring, so the clothes come first and the face looks pale and tired. Keep dark colors to trousers and shoes, away from the face.
FAQ
Can a Light Spring wear black?
Black is the hardest color for a Light Spring: it is far deeper than its coloring and drains a light face. A light camel, a soft warm grey or a medium warm blue does the job of black near the face; keep black itself for shoes and belts.
What is the difference between Light Spring and Light Summer?
Both are light and low in contrast. Light Spring leans warm, with golden or peachy skin and golden or strawberry hair; Light Summer leans cool, with pinker skin and ash blond hair. Peach and butter yellow make a Light Spring glow and a Light Summer look sallow, and powder blue and lavender do the opposite.
